Hi! Thank you for sharing your homeschool ideas and plans. It is very helpful. I feel like I have a lot in common with you and I had to laugh as I read some of the things you mentioned about yourself. For instance, I also like to read the end of the book!!! Actually, several things I could identify with. Isn’t it amazing how you feel like you know someone after meeting them on their blog. Maybe one day I will be brave enough to start my own blog. I too was homeschooled (grades 4th through 12th) and now I am homeschooling my own children. It is a great adventure and I am blessed to be able to do it. We are using ABeka in a similar way that you are…. I use it for Math, Phonics, Reading, Writing…then, I supplement with other things. I am using Galloping the Globe for Geography and History and with Missions tied in. I’m using a few different things for Science. I have 6yr old in 1st grade and 4 yr old in pre-k and we have a one yr old, but he’s more interested in seeing what he can get into next!!! We are excited about the new year and ready to get started!!! I just need to finish up the planning! I really like your workbox idea. Can you give me more information on how you are using it??? Also, do you recommend the pocket folders that you are using? I have priced the actual boxes, but they are a little more than I want to spend at this time so I am thinking of using the idea with the pockets. Thank you for your time.

Gayla, I do love our pockets. They save a lot of space, and they are much cheaper than the boxes (only about $15 on Amazon). I’ve sent you an email with more info on how we use them. Thanks for stopping by!
