But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through not steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:20-21
Am I cleaning and organizing my home for the praise of others, for my own peace of mind,
or is my intent to bring glory to God, as a testimony of being conformed to His character?
Am I cooking meals three times a day merely for our pleasure and for our sustenance
or is my intent to provide what my family needs physically to serve the Lord well?
Am I controlling my children’s behavior,
or is my intent to instill within them the need for God and His enabling power?
Am I educating my children to meet a standard, to impress others,
or is my intent to prepare them to serve the Lord wherever He leads them?
Am I daily striving to heap up “treasure” and praise from this world,
or is my intent focused on the “treasures” that endure?
