I grew up in a small town, half an hour or more from grocery stores, malls, etc. Consequently, we often did our schoolwork in the car. I have some great memories of car-school—and now, my kids do, too!

Recently, I’ve been able to pass down the tradition. I packed up some work pages, pencils, and “twist-able” crayons in these neat little pocket dividers, and we headed out on the road. The kids were absolutely ecstatic. They thought it was the coolest thing to be doing school in the car, and it kept them occupied during the 45 minute trip to the doctor’s office.

It was my first trip with all three kids, all by myself; and really, it went quite smoothly. I think we just might car-school again some time.
