I stumbled upon The Homeschool Buyer Co-op awhile back and have no idea why it’s taken me so long to share this with you.
The Homeschool Buyer Co-op is a free online homeschooling co-op that entitles homeschooling families to discounts from hundreds of educational suppliers. The Co-op works out “Group Buys” on curriculum packages from its sponsors, and these group buys can save a homeschooling family lots of money. On the site you’ll find lots of free information, such as databases of free curriculum, field trips, and educational contests and scholarships. They even have a free tool to create Student ID’s for your kids (to get those student discounts around town that require an ID).
The way the group buys work is that the co-op will send out an email announcing the specials running that week/month. When you click on the link to get more information, the co-op will provide a chart that shows the amount of discount available depending on interest. In other words, the more people who are interested in buying the product, the deeper the discount will be! Also, you can commit to purchasing the product only if it reaches a certain discount.
Purchases of curriculum or purchases made from the co-ops sponsor link also earn you smart-points. These smart-points earn you free credit toward even more products. It’s a great way to shop around, see what’s out there, and save on the products you need for your homeschool.
Click here to take a look around or sign up. It’s free to join and you’re welcome to unsubscribe at any time if you feel it doesn’t meet your needs (but I doubt you’ll feel that way).
And if you don’t mind helping out a fellow mom, please click on my links to sign up. It will help me earn a few more smart-points to go shopping with. =)
